God has been so good to us as we continue to dream bigger, listen for that still small voice of the Holy Spirit, step out in faith, and give GOD the glory for what HE does through us. Each time we step forward in faith, trusting that HE will provide, God shows up with funding and support for each vision. It is an incredible thing the LORD has done over these last 5 years.
In the fall of 2019 was when we finished construction on our existing medical clinic, which the original design and purpose was supposed to be a mission home. Over the course of the last 4 years, we have learned a lot about running a medical clinic and have realized the many things our current facility is lacking. Things such as hand sinks to wash your hands inside, pharmacy and storage space in a separate area, private triage area, an epoxy floor that has no porous surfaces, and other surfaces that can be better sanitized. Together I worked with our medical team to come up with a new design and plan we are all excited about. Below is the design of the new clinic.

But it was never intended to be a medical clinic and is missing the flow of a modern medical facility. Here you can see from the new design that there is now a flow as well as added privacy. The floors and counter areas will all be concrete with an epoxy sealer leaving no seams or cracks for bacteria to hide. There is a separate, private, triage area, away from the waiting room and the nurse’s desk. We will have 3 exam rooms; one will be a room specifically used to see sick or infectious patients where we need to collect blood and urine samples. This room will have a window that the collected specimens can be passed directly to the future biomedical testing lab which will be constructed during phase 3. Each exam room will have a sink to wash hands. We have also added a break room with a private bathroom and shower. Our doctor will have a private office where he can study and do research. We will also have a separate secure room just for our pharmacy, medical, and nutritional supplies. Our team is excited to see what God is doing and are looking forward to serving more folks through this new facility.
Above top left is the view out the window from our Center of Dreams of our campus. We have also outgrown our Center of Dreams in just 6 months. I am working on plans now to build a new Baptist Church which will serve as our new feeding center and multi-purpose building used for our children’s ministries. More about this to follow in the coming weeks. Top center is the end view of the new clinic under construction. Top right is our new business office which is nearing completion. And the large view above is the current progress as of this post. To the far left where the blocks are stacked will be phase 3, which will have our biomedical lab, sonogram and imaging center, and a small surgery center. Ideas for the second floor which will be completed during the final phase 4 are still being tossed around. The Holy Spirit will guide us as we get to that point as to what the needs are, but some ideas are for more classrooms, or dormitory space for volunteers.
As we continue to step out in faithful obedience to the vision the Lord has for us, we appreciate your prayers as the Holy Spirit guides like-minded people to support us. We have dug roots into this community to change the lives of these little ones. Through the love that Jesus showed us, we love, we feed, we cloth, we heal, and we educate, which will prayerfully lead to salvation. By doing these things here in their home country of Guatemala, we give them hope, so when they are older, they have job opportunities and do not need to leave their home country.
