Throughout scriptures there is documented healings of all sorts of issues, in all sorts of ways. These healings continue today. Some through the laying on of hands and the prayers of the faithful, some through miraculous healings, and some through modern medicine. This story of healing is a combination of both prayer and modern medicine.
On March 26, 2021 I met a young lady with her brothers playing outside our clinic. She was covered head to toe with wart like lesions. Upon talking to her I learned that their family used to drink the contaminated water from the various open streams running through the area. Now they drink clean water from our wells and water sources we maintain.
That old acronym that was started and popular in the 1990’s, WWJD What would Jesus do?, came to my mind as I was writing this. It really didn’t at the time I met her because my mindset was already there. But what the world needs today is Jesus, and people with the mindset of helping to be a blessing in Jesus name, WWJD! I would encourage you to slow down your roll and pay attention to those around you that just so happen to cross your path. These I like to call God-cidences.
I have been waiting for the day I could finally publish this story to give GOD the GLORY for what HE has done. We have had another little girl we helped many years ago with a similar, milder case, also from drinking the water and we knew we could help her. So a short time later we were able to take this young lady to a specialist in Guatemala City to have her blood tested to see what type of virus this was and then come up with treatments. Over the next 6-9 months we took her to her appointments in Guatemala City and provided the medicines she required to bring healing. We also had folks praying for her healing.
And after just a short few months, I can now share you the healing and restoration that has come to this young lady. This healing for this young lady in today’s society is life changing. Her beauty has always shined through her smile, now you can see the new confidence in her smile that this healing has brought.
This is what we do. We are blessed to be a blessing. We go about our days with open eyes, and open hearts, watching and listening for that still small voice to direct our path. And over these past 17 years, I can testify that God has been faithful to us. Why? Because we are HIS hands, to do HIS work, and we bring HIM the GLORY!!!
